Why Autism?
Too often, autism is misunderstood or reduced to simple stereotypes. But autism is nuanced. It’s identity and lived experience. It’s strength and difference. I write about autism because I believe in redefining the narrative and exploring the complexity of autism with curiosity and compassion.
About the Author
I have recently become very interested in the neuroscience of Autism since my younger brother was diagnosed with ASD about 6 years ago. Seeing how profoundly ASD has impacted his life as well as my family’s life, I am passionate about gaining a stronger understanding of the science behind the disorder as well as advocating for autism awareness in my school and community.
